This Year's Equipping Team members make up the core group of teachers at Aaron's equipping events. All team members have a long standing with Aaron Ministries and have a breadth and depth of experience and knowledge that they use to educate, train, and inspire ministry leaders.

Father James Mallon
Father James Mallon is the pastor of Saint Benedict Parish, the founder and Director of the John Paul II Media Institute, the Priest of the Archdiocese of Halifax-Yarmouth, a Board of Director for Alpha Canada, and a Board of Director for Renewal Ministries Canada. Father James has his Bachelor of Arts degree from Seminary of Christ the King, his Bachelor of Sacred Theology degree from Saint Paul University, and his Master of Divinity degree from Saint Augustine's Seminary at the Toronto School of Theology. Together with his dog Monsi, Father James created a video series called Dogmatic Theology which is running in Churches worldwide, Catholic and Protestant. He also created a video based Catholic follow up to the Alpha Course that is now running in 26 countries and has been translated into Russian, Chinese and Spanish. He enjoys soccer, music, and anything to do with Apple Computers (he’s been an Apple geek even when it was uncool in the early 90's – which makes him very cool 20 years later).
Dr. John Roddam
John is from Pictou, Nova Scotia. He is an Anglican Priest and served as a parish priest for over 30 years. He is married to Holly and they have four adult children and three granddaughters. He was Rector of St. Luke's in Seattle from 2000-2010 which was the Mother Church of the Charismatic Renewal, the largest revival in Church History. John travelled extensively and internationally, speaking at conferences while overseeing a busy parish. It was a treadmill of pressure, stress and performance. John left St. Luke's exhausted and burnt out. These events are what has led John to become a valuable resource in speaking to stress in ministry.
Rev. Cheryl Ann Beals
Rev. Cheryl Ann Beals has been the Pastor of Victoria Road United Baptist Church, of the African United Baptist Association, since June 2008 and has been in ministry since 1987. Cheryl Ann has her Bachelor of Science Honours in Psychology and Bachelor of Education degrees from Acadia University, a Master of Education degree in Counselling from the University of Western Ontario, and a Master of Divinity degree from McMaster Divinity College. She is presently working on her Doctor of Ministry degree at Acadia Divinity College in the area of spiritual leadership and spiritual formation. She lives in Dartmouth, NS, and enjoys gardening and travelling in her spare time.
Pastor Reid Stairs
Pastor Reid Stairs is the Founder and Lead Pastor of Faith Community Foursquare Church in Dartmouth, NS, and has held this position for the past 15 years. Reid has his Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Education, and Intermediate Guidance Counsellor Certificate from the University of New Brunswick. He also has the Ordination Educational requirements from the Wesleyan Church and has taken additional courses through Pacific Life Bible College in Vancouver, B.C. Reid lives with his Bonnie in Dartmouth, has 3 children, 7 grandchildren, and is an avid motorcycle enthusiast.
Pastor Rob Laidlaw
Rob Laidlaw has been pastoring for twenty-five years and is currently the lead pastor of LifeBridge Community Church in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, which he planted ten years ago. He is married to his wife, Julie, and they have a son and daughter who have both recently graduated from high school. Rob is passionate about seeing the church of God equipped for greater and more impacting ministry.
Pastor Danny Smith
Danny Smith grew up in the small fishing village of Shag Harbour, Nova Scotia. After completing his studies at Acadia Divinity College, he was called as the Lead Pastor of Middleton Baptist Church where he has served since 2004. Danny enjoys preaching and encouraging the church to live missionally in its local context. His favourite pastimes include fishing, biking and gardening. Danny has been married to his wife Lisa since 2002 and they have two children, Josh and Hannah.
Dr. Brian MacArthur
Dr. Brian MacArthur became Senior Pastor of the Bridgewater Baptist Church in October of 2013. For eleven years he was President of Crandall University in Moncton, New Brunswick. Prior to this he served churches within Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, including fourteen years as Senior Pastor of the Lewisville Baptist Church in Moncton, New Brunswick. Brian and his wife Rossanne have five grown children and eleven grandchildren.
Pastor Jay Guptil
Jay is consumed by the love of Jesus and is his desire to become more and more like the One who has redeemed him. He is privileged to serve as Lead Pastor at Hillside Wesleyan Church in Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia and to be part of leading people to Christ centered living. Jay began at Hillside in the summer of 2007 and has served in ministry since 1984 in various churches in both Canada and the United States. He is married to Sharon (1985) and through the years they have been entrusted with five incredible sons and now a beautiful daughter-in-law. Jay is now a grandfather and looks for opportunities to spend time with Riley, his grandson. He loves to be active, is sports minded, and loves to be playing hockey or on the golf course or in the pool swimming laps.
